The Historic Mount Vernon Lifestyle
Mount Vernon, with its architecturally and historically significant cityscape of buildings and green space, was the first Baltimore neighborhood to become a Local Historic District in 1967. In 1971, it was designated as a National Historic Landmark and placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Centinela was founded in 2021 to manage and protect historic properties in Mount Vernon, Baltimore for private owners. Our mission is to preserve these buildings for future generations. We strive to bring them gracefully into the 21st century so that our residents will enjoy their homes in contemporary comfort.
The flower on our logo comes from the ironwork balcony of a recent renovation project on North Calvert Street. We commissioned a reproduction of the original balcony, which dated from 1880. We integrated the same design into a new iron gate and fence for the front of the residence.
Historic and architectural details make Mount Vernon a unique and special place.
We aim to make our apartments a special place for our tenants.
